Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer Middle and High School German language students will take a field trip to the Concordia Language Villages in Bemidji, Minnesota. They will spend the weekend at the German language camp, Waldsee.

2.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer The mission of the Eau Claire Area School District is, "To inspire and prepare our students to live creative, fulfilling and responsible lives."

3.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Participating university students will need knowledge of the German language, preferably at a B1 level or higher. University students will also need to be able to interact with middle and high school students in a positive, respectful manner.

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer The objectives are to enrich the experience of participating ECASD students and help them feel comfortable and safe during their field trip.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Participating university students must be available from the morning of Friday, April 4th, to the afternoon of Sunday, April 6th.

6.

Additional information (not required).

Answer Transportation to and from the camp, meals, and lodging will be provided. Departure for the camp will take place at Northstar Middle School on the morning of April 4th.
