Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer Assistance is needed in the UW Eau Claire - Barron County library to organize, scan, and make accessible all of our archival materials.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer We foster in one another creativity, critical insight, empathy, and intellectual courage, the hallmarks of a transformative liberal education and the foundation for active citizenship and lifelong inquiry.

3.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Good organizational skills are all that is required, but an interest in history is helpful.

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Each student will improve their organizational skills, learn how to use primary sources and make them accessible, and assist the library in having a more organized and useful archive.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer I am fairly flexible on availability, but I do ask that they pick a recurring weekly time to complete their hours.
