Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer The 2025 Amazing Eau Claire Clean-Up will be held on Saturday, April 19th, 2025. What is the Amazing Eau Claire Clean-Up? It's a Community Pick-Up Day where thousands of volunteers fill the streets, trails and parks of Eau Claire and beautify the space. We are in need of volunteers to help prepare supplies for the event. This includes preparing site bags, numbering/organizing volunteer materials, counting/folding t-shirts, and more! We will also have volunteers inventory our Summer Supplies for our Department as they are shipped in. Other projects as assigned.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer To provide exceptional park, recreation, forestry, cemetery, and facility services that will engage the community and enrich our citizens and visitors.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Organization, Communication, Ability to Take Direction Well, Problem Solving, Counting

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer The objective is to make it an easy pick-up and experience for volunteers for the event. The impact this one event makes is huge! Additionally, for Summer Supplies, making it an easy transition for our staff to start their summers off! With everything inventoried and put away neatly, it will make it easy for staff to gather items for programs.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm. However, the week of the Clean-Up, April 14th - 18th, students must be available 4pm-6pm for supplies pickup.
