Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer Eau Claire Parks & Recreation is seeking mature, responsible individuals who enjoy assisting individuals with disabilities during our Par-te-Rec Program. Par-te-Rec is for adults with varying special needs and disabilities. Activities for participants include dancing, table games, bingo, arts/crafts, snacks, and conversation.


What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Eau Claire Parks & Recreation's mission is to provide exceptional park, recreation, and forestry services that will enrich our citizens and visitors.


What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Activity Assistants are responsible for directly assisting participants with crafts or other activities, distribution of snacks, facility set up, and facility tear down. Activity assistants are also encouraged to socialize with the participants during Par-te-Rec.


What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Service Learning students will assist participants with developing and improving social skills, while enhancing their own communication and interpersonal skills.


What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Dates: Wednesdays, September 27-December 6 (1st semester) January 31-April 25 (2nd semester) Time: 5:45pm-8:00pm
