Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer The Youth Advocacy & Wellness Education Program aims to empower teens at the Evolving Wellness Safe Haven Teen Center by providing them with vital knowledge and skills related to mental health, emotional well-being, and overall wellness. Through interactive workshops, peer-led discussions, and wellness activities, interns will help facilitate sessions that address the unique challenges faced by teenagers today, including stress management, self-esteem, healthy relationships, and coping strategies. This program will not only provide crucial resources to our youth but will also cultivate a supportive community atmosphere where teens feel valued and heard. Community Need to Be Addressed: In today’s fast-paced world, many teenagers struggle with mental health issues due to academic pressure, social media influence, and personal challenges. Evolving Wellness aims to create a safe space for teens to express themselves and learn how to navigate these challenges effectively. The Safe Haven Teen Center provides a unique opportunity to reach this vulnerable demographic, ensuring they have access to mental health resources and wellness education that may not be readily available to them elsewhere.
