Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer The UWEC Baseball team hosted various youth baseball camps at Sonnentag. Our student-athletes interacted with students age 5-14 and taught them baseball skills. They grew the game in the community and brought awareness to the community about our program, great student-athletes and facilities.

2.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer To grow the game of baseball in the Eau Clarie area and raise awareness to the community about our program, great student-athletes and facilities.

3.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Baseball knowledge, patience, care, follow through, ability to verbalize their thoughts, organization, public speaking.

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer To serve the community and give back to the community.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Each student-athlete worked 4 youth hitting leagues (90 minutes each), two Sunday youth camps (4.5 hours each).
