Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer Co-founded in 2024 by Dathan Boardman and Jo Burke, we are a non-profit group of local artists, musicians, business owners and others dedicated to the arts, and the power of the arts to help our lives flourish. We believe in all forms of art as powerful tools both individually, as well as within our Eau Claire community and beyond, for healing and health. We will raise awareness about how the arts foster hope, healing and health for all, targeting underserved populations in our community. We are in need of assistance with our outreach for fundraisiing, specifically data entry, (on the student's time).

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Our mission for Flourishing Arts Eau Claire is: NOURISHING OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH THE POWER OF THE ARTS

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer We need students who have basic tech and excel skills to coordinate our database for fundraising - identifiying names of businesses, email and location.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Student objectives: 1. Understanding for our non-profit, and how we work with our community. 2. The work and value of arts organizations and their structure of databases. 3. Community initiatives, how art impacts our health, and fundraising basics.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Understanding basic tech skills, ie., excel sheets and listing, adding to a database, etc. and working independently to finish by May 10.

Answer This is a very flexible position. As co-founders, we are willing to meet with you, explain the assignment(s), and assist you in getting started with our databases. We understand the need for flexiblity, so we'd ask that you work on your own schedule, but finish the work by May 10.
