Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer Campus air quality during demolition (ONLINE OR IN-PERSON). To assess potential health risks from dust inhalation (including silica from concrete) during the demolition of Zorn Arena, Brewer Hall, and Kjer Theatre, we will install Purple Air monitors around the demolition site and a TST Air Assure monitor in Hibbard Hall to evaluated potential effects on indoor air quality. Online monitor data will then be evaluated and compared to local Department of Natural Resources and EPA Air Now levels to assess any incremental exposure from the demolition process.
