Service-Learning Proposal Description


Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer Going to the park or gym playing basketball, football. This promotes social skills, physical exercise and bonding with adult men and women.


What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Our Mission is to offer children a safe, supervised and nurturing environment to interact with other children, their parents and other adults. As faith based we have a love for and dedication to each child regardless of their race, religion or socioeconomic background.


What skills are required for this project? 

Answer A genuine caring and interest in making a positive difference in the life of a child/teen! Experience with working with kids from at risk environments is important. People person, one who isn't afraid to start conversations with kids. Good listening skills


What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Interacting with boys and girls teaching them about team playing and good sportsmanship. Each student has the ability to make a positive impact by way of sharing their experience with physical, mental, emotional teaching through interaction of the sport. WIN WIN situation!


What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Hours of Operation are: Monday 4:30-6:30, Tuesday 4:30-6:30, Wednesday 4:30-6:30, Thursday 4:30-6:30 We require no more than 2 days a week. If you want to do more days that is an option. -We appreciate being on time and letting us know a day in advance your unavailable to volunteer. This allows for coverage to replace you that day. Kiddos really look forward to seeing y'all!

Answer If you have you have a car this would be great. Any interest in transporting a plus for outings. Our kids love basketball and football so going to some professional games will be on the radar. Home cooked meals provided for everyone. Outings are free to all volunteers. Some perks to volunteering.
