Service-Learning Proposal Description

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer ECCHA has many inquiries about homemade or low cost projects different groups can accomplish to help the pets in need. Over time, supplies have been collected to make different items. Preparation work is needed to assemble "kits" of the different projects with examples, pictures, and instructions. These kits include fleece blankets, fleece toys, Mylar cat toys, rice heat packs, egg mice toys, and catnip toys. These kits help animals in our shelter have enrichment during their stay.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer The mission of the Eau Claire Humane Association is to be a voice for all animals by providing education, resources, and support for the community, compassionate care for homeless animals until they can be placed in forever homes, and coordination with other organizations to promote animal welfare.

What skills are required for this project?

Answer Good communication, able to work independently, organized, and ability to follow instructions.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer The kits will provide a variety of opportunities to students and/or groups that may not be able to help in other ways due to time or monetary constraints. These projects will also open the door to communication about why our community has a shelter, what pets we serve, how to adopt, and other ways to help.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Very flexible schedule
