Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer This project is needed for educational purposes to reduce the stigma of dementia, to do outreach, to let families and senior facilities know this opportunity is available and to use in seeking grants. The documentation needs to be in a linear timeline format through a CD format and in a scrapbook book style including many graphics, interviews, video clips and articles.


What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer The Stand in the Light Memory Choir uses the power of singing to move people with memory loss and their care partners to rediscover themselves, make new friends, laugh together, learn together, and contribute to their community.


What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Skills: Technical, organizational, creative, research, adding links, video clips, pictures, interviews and articles, communication skills.


What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer To produce 2 different visual formats of documentation using a CD and a scrapbook type (tbd) as final products. To be able to set and meet reasonable timelines along with displaying progress. To do research for articles, interviews and video clips. To communicate frequently with the supervisor on needs and progress. To be inventive and creative in the final products.


What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Initially to meet with the Supervisor and to visit a choir rehearsal to see who she or he is doing the supportive work for. To gather physical entries from supervisor and director. To attend the spring concert for the choir in April. To communicate email, text and by phone on regular intervals with supervisor. Rehearsals are held at Good Shepherd Church at 1120 Cedar St, EC.

Answer I am looking forward to working with students who have the skills to enhance our presentation of our choir through the products to be developed. This is a reflex-able and creative opportunity for more than one student. A team would be a collaborative and fun approach.
