Service-Learning Proposal Description


Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer Students in middle and high school complete projects and can advance from regional events to the state contest and even on to nationals. We need community members in Eau Claire to help judge at the National History Day regional hosted on UW Eau Claire's campus. The community need to be addressed is to collect, preserve, and share Wisconsin's stories.


What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Collect, preserve, and share Wisconsin's stories.


What skills are required for this project? 

Answer A love of history and students.


What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Interact with middle and high school students Analyze and rank student work by reviewing students' thesis statements, research, and analysis Network with other historical professionals and enthusiasts


What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Orientation/training day on Friday, March 2nd from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.; 7:30-2:30 on Thursday, March 8th. Additional times required will be for debriefing on Thursday, March 15th followed by a reflection activity. Please consult with event organizers for post event activities.
