Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer The Marketing/Events/Writing Intern serves as the support to the Resource Development Department which consist of Marketing, Events and Grant writing. Tasks include assisting implementing Marketing Plan which includes, social media, press release, photo and video opportunities. This person will be instrumental in helping with Events and Marketing execution, which includes: Tasks to prepare for day of event,track and organize table sales (Who’s attending on behalf of the businesses, meeting minutes for planning committees, miscellaneous tasks) and social media posts for events. Organize and communicate through writing organizational Grants.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Our Mission. To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Great organizational and writing skills. Must be a detail orientated person. Have working and creative social media skills on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Work with people to gather information and be able to create craft and write about the great program offered at the Clubs. Self motivated to establish and creative. The ability to work well with other staff members and Club kids. Experience with Marketing and Events is preferred but not required.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer 15 hours per week at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley - between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday - Friday. For Events, some hours will be include nights and weekends. Must be flexible.
