Service-Learning Proposal Description

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer The L.E. Phillips Career Development Center is a non-profit organization looking to share their current community project with the Chippewa Valley. We are seeking a student(s) to create a short video and book or calendar about our mask project that we started in April 2020.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Our mission is to be a viable business enterprise as a means to provide meaningful and appropriate vocational services and employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities or disadvantages.

3.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Graphic design, videography and video editing are recommended. Education and experience in journalism, marketing, and/or advertising will be an asset. Comfortable connecting with masks recipients over the phone for interviews on how the mask assisted them during the pandemic.

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Learn the mission of the L.E. Phillips Career Development Center and gain knowledge on our current mask project. Create a short video and book or calendar that accurately conveys the centers mission and programs in an interesting and appealing way.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer This project is flexible in day/time to work remotely, accommodating most students' schedules. Student must be able to access online resources and be available to connect via Zoom meetings or phone calls with the centers promotions staff.
