Service-Learning Proposal Description

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer Project Face Mask is a project that gives back to the community. This project will allow you to reach out to area businesses via phone and/or email to see if they would like to receive our donated face masks. L.E. Phillips Career Development Center has been sewing face masks since March 2020 and donating them to community members and businesses throughout the Chippewa Valley. Since the project started we have donated over 71,000 face masks. We have youth and adult sized masks available. Face masks are washable and reusable.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer L.E. Phillips Career Development Center's mission is to provide meaningful vocational training, employment opportunities, and community outreach resources for individuals with disabilities and disadvantages.

3.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer *Good communication. *Access to a phone and/or computer. *Able to connecting with community members and businesses. *Document face masks request and send to project supervisor for follow up on delivery/pick-up.

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Gain insight on communities need for personal PPE (masks) and be able to share information on this nonprofit giving back to the community during these challenging times. Slowing the spread of COVID-19 by working together to make a difference.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Work from your location remotely via email and/or phone calls to obtain facemasks request for the L.E. Phillips Career Development Center.

Additional information (not required).

Answer L.E. Phillips Career Development Center will arrange for pick-up and/or delivery of the face masks for each business. Donations are accepted, but not required. Face masks are provided in single packs or 10 packs.
