Service-Learning Proposal Description

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer Tandem has weekly events called Tandem Tuesday where we build community with the youth a part of our mentoring program as well as youth that are visiting. We provide a home cooked meal every Tuesday for these teens since many of them don't get the opportunity to have that at home. Many of them are facing adversities that include having a lower socioeconomic status, parents incarcerated, alcohol and drug abuse, and peer pressure. Meal providers make a meal and bring to a Tandem Tuesday Event to serve about 15-20 persons. Meals need to be delivered by 5:20pm on Tuesday to our Tandem office located on 421 Graham Ave, Eau Claire WI. We suggest crock pot meals or casseroles as they are easiest and best for transporting. You can drop and go, or you're welcome to hang out with us for the evening. We will wash any dishes you bring and have them cleaned and ready for pick up the following day.
