Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer In this position you will work closely with the Marketing and Development Manager in the promotion and marketing of Junior Achievement efforts assisting in all aspects of planning, implementing and marketing for various special events and marketing efforts through-out the year. Intern Responsibilities may include: Assist in marketing Junior Achievement, including: creating promotional materials as needed; Create posts for the organizations social media outlet that include Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn; Help plan upcoming special events, including securing raffle and auction prizes, planning logistics, creating promotional materials and content, etc.; Assist in event day set up, take down, and any other event detail as needed; Write brief articles for bi-monthly e-newsletters and other marketing materials. The community need to be addressed is to assist in presenting economic life skills through hands-on education programs to area youth

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Junior Achievement of Wisconsin is a non-profit organization that presents economic life skills through hands-on education programs to area youth. Junior Achievement volunteers present hands-on programs to K-12 students during the school by throughout the school year. The organization’s purpose is to inspire and prepare K-12 students to succeed in a global economy.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer This person should be creative, motivated and confident and looking to gain practical marketing experience as well as a first-rate partnership for building a resume.

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Assist in helping Junior Achievement increase community awareness of the programs offered to area youth in promoting entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy. This opportunity provides hands-on experience for the student as well as providing a portfolio generating piece interning for a non-profit organization.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer The scheduling for this is flexible, the student just needs to log at least 30 hours over the course of Fall semester.

Answer Interns are asked to provide their own laptop. Wi-Fi is available at the job site.
