Service-Learning Proposal Description


Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern WI is 100% community funded. We do not charge the families in our program for our services. The majority of our funding comes from Fundraisers and we need help to plan and execute these events. Students will be assisting with the planning and execution of an event to include: -Budget creation -Following a budget -Venue selection -Working with venue staff -Create a planning timeline for the event to include marketing/social media -Determine Sponsorship benefits for an event -Sponsorship and donation solicitation -Donor procurement and relations -Creating and maintaining strong in-kind partnerships -Guest ticketing/attendance -Determine volunteer needs for the event -Volunteer recruitment and management -Create a day-of agenda of the event -Event day execution


What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer To create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.


What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Organization, communication and ability to volunteer at the events.


What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer To show a behind the scenes look into how a fundraiser is planned and executed.


What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Attend monthly meetings, work from home/office on tasks, and work the Event during the evening. We have an Event about every 2 months.
