Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer This project is designed to educate participants and gather their support around the issue of murdered and missing Indigenous women. Participants will learn more about this topic and help the Inter-Tribal Student Council raise awareness this spring for Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women Awareness Day May 5th, 2021.


What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer The mission of the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) is to provide quality services and programs that support and enhance the collegiate experience, particularly for students of color. Through advising, advocacy and outreach, OMA is dedicated to an equitable, diverse and inclusive campus community that helps students excel individually and collectively.


What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Must be open minded and willing to learn Culturally appropriate interpersonal skills Collaboration and team work


What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Participants will gain knowledge about missing and murdered Indigenous women and Indian communities/culture. Students will participant in service by helping with planning and implementing an event that will raise awareness and educate our campus and community.


What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Students must be available in the afternoon on May 4th and 5th to help assemble and disassemble displays around campus. Students must also be able to make it to at least one Inter-Tribal Student Council meeting in the spring semester and planning meetings about implantation of the project. There is some flexibility with this project and some of the meetings.

Answer Another 15 hour project will be available in Fall 2021 for the Pow Wow if students are interested in participating in another project that works with the Inter-Tribal Student Council.
