Service-Learning Proposal Description


Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer The Chippewa Strikers Soccer Club provides the youth of the Chippewa Valley a place to learn and compete in the sport of soccer. We are in need of motivated, organized, and energetic volunteer coaches to help enhance our players abilities in the sport of soccer and be productive members of a community.


What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer The mission of the Chippewa Strikers Soccer Club is to provide a safe environment for all youth in the Chippewa Valley a location to participate in soccer activities through a team network. Emphasis is placed on good sportsmanship and being a productive member of a team and community.


What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Skills required are the ability to communicate with youth and adults, being organized, punctual, responsible, committed, and good role model for youth. Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle would be desired. Arrangements can be made if a vehicle is not accessible.


What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Objectives would be to organize and teach a team of 10 to 14 youth athletes. Set practice schedules that are accommodating to the student's and the families associated schedules. Provide an environment of safety and enjoyment for the participants.


What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Student would be able to establish their own practice schedules to avoid conflicts with school and personal life schedules. Student would need to be available on Saturdays between April 24, 2021 and June 5, 2021 for league games.

Answer Students will need to submit for a Risk Management certificate, SafeSport certificate, and Concussion Awareness certificate through Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association. All fees associated with these certificates are covered by the Chippewa Strikers Soccer Club.
