Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer To promote and represent UW - Eau Claire by working with prospective students and assisting with special events sponsored through the Chancellor's and Alumni Offices. The Campus Ambassador Service Learning opportunity is intended for heavily-involved Ambassadors who intend to considerably surpass the minimum expectations of involvement in the organization.

2.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Campus Ambassadors help the Admissions, Foundation, and Alumni offices serve as the "door" to the University. Campus Ambassadors have a direct hand in helping prospective students and families understand and choose life as a Blugold, help alumni reflect upon their time at UW - Eau Claire, and host other guests to the university.

3.

What skills are required for this project?

Answer The student must be involved in the Campus Ambassador organization and be prepared to go beyond the required events and expectations in a given semester. For 2022-2023: [new Ambassadors only: complete two tour shadows], attend a training retreat, and complete the required six events (four tours, two of them being Saturdays).

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Students in the Campus Ambassador organization will help showcase UW - Eau Claire to prospective students and families and alumni through campus tours, student panels, phone calls, high school visits, college fairs and email contact to promote and represent UW - Eau Claire and Blugold life. Access to earn service learning credit through Campus Ambassadors is an additional incentive for students who go above and beyond in service to the organization.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Students will need to have great time management skills and complete their required events first, then go above and beyond to complete Service Learning (for example, ten additional 90-minute tours).

6.

Additional information (not required).

Answer Student must be involved in Campus Ambassadors.
