Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer The campus Harvest Food Pantry is looking for student volunteers to assist in the operation of the Campus Pantry.

2.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer The mission of the Campus Harvest Food Pantry is to eliminate food insecurity amongst UWEC students.

3.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Able to adapt to the pantry environment and provide students with a friendly experience when using the pantry. Volunteers may be asked to lift up to 35lbs.

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Students will learn about food insecurity at UWEC and in the Eau Claire area. Students will also learn about the resources provided the university provides to students.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Students will pick ONE shift from the following: Monday 2pm-5pm Tuesday 8:30am - 11am (Kwik Trip pick ups and food bank deliveries - must have a car) Tuesday 2pm-5pm Wednesday 11am - 2pm Wednesday 2pm-5pm Thursday 2pm-5pm
