Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer The campus Harvest Food Pantry is looking for student volunteers to assist in the operation of the Campus Pantry. Volunteers will be responsible for receiving items from the Feed My People trucks for the Campus Pantry, transporting the items to the pantry, and putting the items away.

2.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer The mission of the Campus Harvest Food Pantry is to eliminate food insecurity amongst UWEC students.

3.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Able to adapt to the pantry environment. Volunteers may be asked to push carts and lift up to 50lbs.

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Students will learn about food insecurity at UWEC and in the Eau Claire area. Students will also learn about the resources provided the university provides to students.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Food Delivery for the Campus Haul/ Deliver will occur only once a week. Volunteers will be available Tuesday 9am-12
