Service-Learning Proposal Description


Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer This project consists of creating and implementing a social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twittter, LinkedIn) campaign to solicit individuals to tutor children.


What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Our mission is to provide high-quality, explicit, systematic reading instruction for children.


What skills are required for this project? 

Answer You will need to have skills and understanding how to create a marketing campaign as well as working through social media platforms. Candidates need to be creative, articulate, and able to inspire individuals to volunteer in teaching children to read.


What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer The student learning objective includes applying marketing and promotional skills to develop a social media campaign.


What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Student will meet with the supervisor to discuss the project and develop a plan. The student will then work independently at times convenient for them to develop the campaign posts. The supervisor will be available to work with the student as needed. A final meeting with the supervisor to discuss the project wrap up will be scheduled.


Additional information (not required).

Answer Children's Charities utilizes volunteers to teach children to read. Tutors are fully trained and do not need a teaching background.
