Service-Learning Proposal Description


Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer The UWEC Children's Nature Academy is a nationally-accredited program that provides care and learning to young children. The busy teachers work hard to make sure that learning is developmentally appropriate and fun while maintaing classrooms that are clean, tidy, and beautiful. However, the job is both mentally and physically draining at times and having additional support to enhance environments is sometimes difficult. This project would provided "administrative assistant - type work" so that they can stay organized and meet their personal and professional goals.


What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer To provide nature-inspired care and learning to children ages 6 - weeks throuth 12 years of age.


What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Organization, precision, artistic - ability, knowledge of children.


What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer The student will gain experience in developing systems and knowledge of the early childhood programming.


What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Flexible hours are available between the hours of 7 - 5:30, Monday - Friday. The project can be for 15 or 30 hours.
