Service-Learning Proposal Description

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer Grow. Impact. Lead. Powered by Royal Credit Union is a 6-session in-person program that offers young adults an opportunity to develop leadership skills, network with a variety of local professionals, participate in community service projects, and receive financial education.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Royal Credit Union's Core Purpose is to create a positive impact in the lives we touch. We are offering this program as a free service to 18-24 year old people for the betterment of the community.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer 2 hours of classroom work and 2 hours volunteering at a non-profit. some lifting, bending, standing required.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Grow. Impact. Lead. will have three sessions dedicated to leadership development. Meals will be provided at each leadership session and participants will be given the opportunity to meet with local professionals from across the Chippewa Valley and learn from their experiences. Grow. Impact. Lead. will also provide the opportunity to volunteer at three area non-profits.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Leadership lessons will be Mondays, Sept. 26, Oct. 17, Nov. 7, from 6-8pm on UWEC's Campus in Towers Conference Room. Community service projects are TBD.

Powered by Royal Credit Union is a 6-session in-person program that offers young adults an opportunity to develop leadership skills, network with a variety of local professionals, participate in community service activities, and receive financial education in the areas of credit, budgeting, and more. Sessions are free and last approximately two hours. The first session will take place on September 26 at 6 p.m. in the UWEC Towers Conference Room. A meal and fun swag items will be provided. This program is approved by University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire to fulfill Service-Learning requirements. Program space is limited to 20 students. Register For Grow. Impact. Leadership lessons will take place in the UWEC Towers Conference Room from 6-8 p.m. Please note dates are subject to change. A finalized schedule will be provided at the Sept. 26 session. Grow: Sept. 26- Area small business owners and share what it takes grow a company and be your own boss. Impact: Oct. 17- Local leaders discuss corporate social responsibility and ways you can make a difference in your community. Lead: Nov. 7 – Work with area experts to learn everything you need to strengthen your personal brand and get that dream job. Grow. Impact. Lead. will also provide the opportunity to volunteer at three area non-profits. Transportation will be provided to these events and each project will last approximately two hours. We are anticipating the volunteer projects will take place during the weeks of Oct. 10, Oct. 24 and Nov. 14. Exact dates and times will be communicated at the first leadership meeting on Sept. 26.
