Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer EC Fastpitch offers early skill development in the game of fastpitch softball as well as an avenue to develop youth athletes in the areas of social connectivity, stewards of kindness and coaching the value of teamwork.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Non-profit that offers an accessible youth fastpitch softball development program for girls in the Chippewa Valley.

3.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Students should be prepared to: - Work independently - Represent the organization with a high level of professionalism - Plan/organize portions of special event fundraisers - Create marketing and social media content - Train volunteers on concession duties - Solicit sponsorships/ support from area businesses - Shape what this opportunity will look like for future students

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer - Confidence in making connections and creating partnerships - Ability to successfully organize and facilitate special events and programs - Assess marketing needs and creatively support through website and social media - Ability to train others in specific roles

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer - Some work can be done remotely but student(s) should have access to transportation to the Eau Claire Sport Warehouse (indoor practice) and Jeffers Park (outdoor practice and games) in Eau Claire in the evenings as needed. - Project would run December- May - We have space for 2-3 service learners

Answer We would be able to support students looking for a 15 hour experience as well.
