Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer We are a non-profit organization that serves teens facing adversity (foster care, juvenile detention, negative mental health, etc.) By joining our Hospitality Team you would be meeting a need of creating an environment for teens to be themselves. You will help create a welcoming and safe space for teens. Set up welcome table and run welcome table with sign-in. Set up dinner, serve dinner, and clean up after dinner.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Our mission is to end hopelessness among teens.

3.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Interpersonal skills, food service skills, ability to lift 20 pounds.

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Help an organization serving teens facing adversity host programming centered around promoting positive emotional heath, building resiliency, and creating community. Grow in interpersonal skills. Work with youth. Learn organizational operations.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Hospitality Team: Tuesdays 4-6 pm
