Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer We are a non-profit organization that serves teens facing adversity (foster care, juvenile detention, negative mental health, etc.) By joining our Activities Team you would be meeting a need of creating an environment for teens to play and have fun. Interact with teens over dinner. Build relationships. Lead games and activities to begin programming.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Our mission is to end hopelessness among teens.

3.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Group facilitation and team leading skills. High energy. Creativity. Interpersonal skills.

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Work with youth. Grow in interpersonal skills. One of our main objectives is to have a culture of play. By being a leader in this area, you would be contributing to promoting positive emotional and mental health among teens.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Activities Team: Tuesdays 4:45-6 pm
