Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer Western Dairyland's housing department frequently has reoccurring or odd tasks that we would love to have volunteers assist with. Some of these can include, but are not limited to, printing and sorting housing packets, setting up seasonal supplies for unhoused individuals, and help with shelter organization.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Western Dairyland's mission is to alleviate poverty related conditions and provide opportunities which enable people to advance economically and socially.

3.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Effective communication skills. Any other required skills will be taught at Western Dairyland.

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Students can learn more about the needs of unhoused individuals in the area, what support networks are in place, and what it is like to work with a disadvantaged population.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Western Dairyland is open Monday through Friday from 8:00AM-4:30PM. Students are able to fit as many hours as they want, wherever they would like to within that time range.
