Service-Learning Proposal Description

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer Assist in the supervision of DeLong Middle School Students attending Concordia Language Village in MN for a weekend. Encourage and engage in the immersive experience for the students in the spanish language. Chaperones would be responsibilities include supervising the students within the student cabins during the overnight hours, and if they are in the cabins in other parts of the day and attending mealtimes with the students. With the addition of one male chaperone we will be able to send more students for this unique educational experience for them. Chaperones will have the opportunity to take part in any of the language learning activities, if they choose. During mealtimes chaperones will have the opportunity to try the different foods the camp has to offer that are related to culture from the Spanish Language. Chaperones are not required to know the language used at the camp. Chaperones attend free of cost, and would ride in the bus to the Language Villages.
