Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer The project will be to be immersed into the Hmong Student Association’s annual Culture Core Conference. The project will be to help actively cook, prep, and follow the conference schedule to ensure a successful conference.

2.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Our mission in HSA is to play an active role in providing social and mutual support for all members of our association. Not only are we trying to provide such support, but we strive to promote and enhance leadership skills among the Hmong students in higher education. Other goals that we work for each year is to assist UW-Eau Claire in increasing its numbers on enrollment and graduation of our Hmong students, to advocate for the inclusion of a Hmong-related curriculum here at UW-Eau Claire, to promote awareness of the Hmong Culture within HSA, the campus, and throughout the community, and to network with other students and similar associations at other colleges and universities. HSA's Culture Core Conference is a major, FREE, event that helps us reach our mission.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer The objectives are to bring awareness about Hmong people into the campus and community, know about the everyday food the Hmong community eats, and have critical awareness of marginalized communities.

Answer March 3rd 2023 12PM-6PM March 4th 2023 7AM-6PM
