Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer The College of Business requires all students to have access to bring a laptop to class when required to do so. This creates a significant need for technical help for students to get the required software installed, connect to the wireless campus network, and many other miscellaneous issues. The Laptop Support students are situated in the lobby area of Schneider Hall multiple times a week to provide this support free to students. Orientation and training is provided by the project supervisor.

2.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer The College of Business at UW-Eau Claire provides undergraduate and graduate students with an excellent business education so they can help build an ethical and prosperous global economy. We strive to develop in our students the communication, technology, and teamwork building skills needed to lead beneficial change in a diverse business world. College of Business faculty and staff will maintain excellence in the classroom through the creation of discipline-based and teaching-related intellectual contributions. The Laptop Support to Students Service Learning project will help fulfill this need.

3.

What skills are required for this project?
