Service-Learning Proposal Description

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer A unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of writing, content creation, and communication. You will be creating engaging, informative, and high-quality written content for our website. We want you to create a partnership with MS-Take Charge, Inc so we can become a reference for you in the future.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer MS-Take Charge is a nonprofit organization focusing on providing movement therapy and wellness for those with Multiple Sclerosis. Educate and empower independency through community collaboration to “Take Charge” of MS by learning to move MS energy effectively and create vitality of Mind, Body and Spirit in the Chippewa Valley area.

3.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Someone with an interest in collaborating with me as I form a health and wellness community engagement nonprofit organization for individuals living with Multiple Sclerosis. 1. Basic understanding of grammar, punctuation, and writing conventions 2. Familiarity with digital content trends and online platforms 3. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities 4. Proficiency in using word processing, spreadsheet, and Adobe 5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively 6. Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines. 7. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal 8. Utilize one’s skills to enhance their service-learning experience

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Learn organizational operations. Grow in content creation, planning and publishing. This is an excellent learning opportunity for you as well as a chance to be interning with a nonprofit while building your resume.

Answer Multiple Sclerosis is a neurological disorder usually manifesting itself in early 20’s. Almost one million people in the United States have MS, making it one of the most common causes of neurological disability among young adults (20’s-40’s) in North America. The prevalence of MS in Wisconsin is medium to high and there is an estimated 20,000 people in Wisconsin impacted by Multiple Sclerosis.
