Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer On December 29th we will be offering a New Year's Event from 5-8:30 for the families in our community. We are offering families face painting, inflatables, balloon drop at 8pm, DJ entertainment and limo rides. We are looking for volunteers to help run a variety of games, provide extra supervision for our inflatables and help with clean up.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer The YMCA of the Chippewa Valley comes alive to ignite the human spirit by partnering with the community and providing an environment that supports youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Through our many youth, family, and adult programs, we offer a great place where people of all ages can go to exercise their minds and bodies. Mission Statement: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. Vision: We build strong kids, strong families, strong communities.

3.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer -Creating an upbeat and positive environment for our families and kids. - Set up, help supervise event and help clean up -Ability to set and keep boundaries with kids. -HAVE FUN!

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Ability to create a fun and interactive environment for our families. -Activities can be catered to students major (recreational/ educational)

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer December 29 from 4:30-9:30pm

Answer Come ready with high energy for a fun time with our families.
