Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer We are looking for an artist who is willing to create artwork for a new transitional housing unit for families. The art will be hung in the main living area of the housing unit. A photo of the space will be provided for any interested artist.

2.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Bolton Refuge House is a non-profit organization that serves survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

3.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer The ability to create artwork (any medium that can be hung on a wall).

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer The primary objective is for a student-artist to create something that will beautify and uplift residents of this transitional housing unit.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer This is a project that can be completed on your own time. Once the project is complete, a representative of Bolton Refuge House will pick up the artwork and transport to the housing unit.

6.

Answer A photo and dimensions of the space will be provided upon request.
