Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer There are many small projects that need to be done, and UWECBC Foundation is staffed by one 50% position. This service learning project would be to help where help is needed... picking up & processing Food Rescue, organizing the food pantry, filing or sorting, assisting with fund raising events, creating fliers, etc. Get a glimpse into the many aspects of the non-profit world!

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer To enhance student and community educational opportunities through the direct support of scholarships and campus initiatives at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire -- Barron County.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Listening, problem solving, creativity, patience

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Most real-world jobs aren't one job, but a continuous series of tasks that need to be done. This SL project will involve being able to take on projects with brief instructions and seeing them through to completion.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Food Rescue: Thursdays, early afternoon. All other projects can be done at the student's convenience.
