Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer The project involves supporting nonprofits in enhancing their online presence to attract more volunteers. Many nonprofits struggle to effectively engage their communities online due to limited resources and expertise. By helping these organizations improve their digital profiles, UWEC students can significantly boost volunteer recruitment, which is essential for these nonprofits to fulfill their missions and positively impact their communities.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Inspiring Service is dedicated to building strong volunteer communities by connecting individuals with meaningful opportunities to give back. Our mission is to empower volunteers to make a difference in their own communities by supporting local nonprofits, improving their outreach, and enabling them to better serve their causes.

3.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Basic computer skills Attention to detail and communication skills for updating and organizing content Creativity in selecting and posting engaging photos We provide full training on how to update nonprofit profiles.

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Students will gain hands-on experience in digital engagement and content management while developing an understanding of the challenges nonprofits face in volunteer recruitment. This project offers an opportunity for civic responsibility and community involvement, allowing students to contribute to meaningful causes and make a tangible difference in the impact of nonprofits both locally and nationwide.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Volunteer any time, anywhere! This project is highly flexible, allowing students to volunteer remotely at their own pace, making it an ideal opportunity to balance with academic and personal commitments.

Answer Students are welcome to complete this project with either a 15-hour or 30-hour commitment.
