Answer The Jam is a life-giving music community for at-risk teens in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The Jam programming equips students to engage in positive community at a social level using music through engagement with local artists and hands-on jam sessions in an encouraging and uplifting environment. This project is for a student with a desire to lead. Working alongside the program's director, this student will be taking on key leadership responsibilities including coordination of staff, volunteers, and program logistics, establishing and maintaining uplifting relationships with youth and other stakeholders, and seeking out ways in which to improve the program.

2.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer The Jam's mission is to help teens grow in their passion for music, their spirit of creativity, and their value of self.

3.

What skills are required for this project?

Answer This budding leader should be equipped with a positive attitude, a heart for music and youth, and an eagerness to learn. Strong communication and organizational skills will go a long way in this role.

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer During this project, the student will apply their leadership skills in a setting which allows them to give back to the community. Students will also learn how community can be established in diversity, and witness the importance of community art and inter-organizational collaboration to ennoble and unify people.

5.
