Service-Learning Proposal Description


Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer The ECAHMAA provides services to about 3700 Hmong community members each year. A few of the services provided by the ECAHMAA include: medical and legal translation, housing assistance, youth programs, domestic violence and sexual assault case management, family strengthening activities, and cultural events.You will be working alongside with our Grant Writer in completing reports for the year and generating ideas for new proposals for the upcoming year of 2020.

Answer To empower people, advance cultures, and enhance the quality of life for Chippewa Valley low-income families


What skills are required for this project? 

Answer • Knowledge of Microsoft Word • Knowledge of Microsoft Publisher • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel • Knowledge of Windows • Written communication, grammar, and proofreading skills • Good organization and editing skills • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects • Must have taken Technical Writing


What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer You will be able to enhance your organization, writing, and communication skills with the rest of the staff to build a better knowledge of how each program runs. You will also get to develop an action plan and goal setting for each staffs' program.


What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer This internship is for 9-10 hours per week. You will generate a schedule with the Grant Writer.
