Service-Learning Proposal Description


Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer L.E. Phillips Career Development Center is looking for 2-3 Operations students to help in the certification of our facility in ISO 9001.2015. In taking part in this opportunity, you will help streamline our operations and boost our manufacturing capabilities. This will allow us to give our staff meaningful work experience which will help build their vocational skills for their long-term goals.


What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer Our mission is to be a viable business enterprise as a means to provide meaningful and appropriate vocational services and employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities or disadvantages.


What skills are required for this project? 

Answer For this service learning project we are looking for junior or senior year students with high level supply chain and/or operational classes. The perfect candidate for this service learning project should have a friendly demeanor, a positive attitude, and strong determination to in facilitating completion of the ISO 9001.2015 certification process.


What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer For our service learning project we would like students to perform our ISO 9001.2015 checks as well as finish out our ISO certification with the help of our president and safety coordinator.


What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer We would like each student to work at least 2 days a week any time between the hours of 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.
