Service-Learning Proposal Description


Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer Eau Claire Area Hmong Mutual Assistance Association is looking for student/s to help our agency provide the resources and services that we have available to our low-income families in the Chippewa Valley. Student/s will help direct clients to other staff members with specific services such as: Housing, Family Strengthening, Youth, Ntuj Tshiab (sexual assault), Kaj Siab (elders program), and Hmong Victim Services.


What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer The mission for Eau Claire Area Hmong Mutual Assistance Association is "To empower people, advance cultures, and enhance the quality of life for Chippewa Valley low-income families".


What skills are required for this project? 

Answer The skills that are required for this service learning are -Microsoft Excel -Microsoft Word -Customer Service -Telephone -Scheduling -Hmong & English Language -QuickBooks


What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer The objective for the student learning and service is for the student/s to improve their communication skills with co-workers and clients. Student/s will also get to enhance their skills in clerical, data entry, and accounting.


What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Business Hours: Mondays-Fridays 8:00am-5:00pm. -Minimum of 3 hours/day -Can build your own schedule for flexibility

Answer Background Check must be completed prior to starting date. Looking for students fluent in both speaking and writing in Hmong and English.
