Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer We are in constant need of updated pictures of our animals in hopes to get them adopted out faster. We are in need of someone to come in and take pictures of our dogs and cats for their adoption profiles. We often do not have the time to take good, quality pictures of the animals and only have time to take a quick picture on our phones.

2.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer The Chippewa Humane Association, also known as the Howard Gibbs Memorial Animal Shelter, seeks to relieve the suffering of homeless companion animals. By setting an example of excellence in animal care and placement, humane education, and community leadership, we can successfully emphasize their importance.

3.

What skills are required for this project?

Answer The ability and equipment to take high quality photos as well as edit photos tastefully. Previous photography experience is desired but not necessary.

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Practice your photography and editing skills. Provides hands-on experience for the student to provide a portfolio building piece for a non-profit organization.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer We can work with most schedules. Afternoons would work best for us, as we have volunteers/staff cleaning in the mornings.
