Service-Learning Proposal Description

1.

Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed.

Answer A consumer working with the Wisconsin Division of Vocational Rehabilitation is setting up a small business compatible with her disability. She needs assistance setting up her initial chart of accounts, connecting Quickbooks to her business checking account, and instruction in the use of Quickbooks.

2.

What is the mission of the agency or organization?

Answer C.R. Haupt LLC provides Wisconsin DVR consumers assistance with business plan development so that entrepreneurs with disabilities can develop successful businesses.

3.

What skills are required for this project? 

Answer Knowledge of Quickbooks, basic accounting, and an ability to teach basic Quickbooks concepts.

4.

What are the objectives for the student learning and service?

Answer Understand the challenges that persons with disabilities face in starting up a business and how those challenges can be overcome. Learn to successfully work with and transfer skills to others. Learn basic project management skills.

5.

What are the availability requirements for the student?

Answer Very flexible. Can work around the student’s schedule.
