Service-Learning Proposal Description


Briefly describe the project and the community to be addressed.
Answer LEEPS will match people with Alzheimer's disease or related dementias to a volunteer from the community who will exercise with them, and accompany them on outings in the community for social enjoyment.


What is the mission of the agency or organization?
Answer To help people age 60+ and adults with disabilities secure needed services or benefits, live with dignity and security and achieve maximum independence and quality of life.


What skills are required for this project?
Answer A vehicle, valid driver's license and car insurance are needed for transportation and social outings.


What are the objectives for the student learning and service?
Answer Communicate with individuals who suffer from Alzheimer's disease or related dementias. Provide structured learning and social engagement to your companion. Communicate with ADRC office throughout program.


What are the availability requirements for the student?
Answer 3 month commitment of 1-2 hours a week. Timing is flexible each week.
